The conference Recent Advances in Nanomedicine: Opportunities and Challenges took place in Milan on February 29 – March 1 and was organized by the BioNanoMedicine Center “NANOMIB” of the University Milano-Bicocca. NANOMIB is a biotech platform whose mission is the design, synthesis and validation of nano-devices for regenerative medicine, therapy and diagnosis of human diseases.
The main topics of the conference were : nanomaterials, nanoparticles for drug delivery, nanoparticles in gene therapy, nanodiagnostics, computational nanomedicine, nanoparticles for topical and oral formulations and nanotechnology in cosmetics.
Thanks to the contribution of the invited speakers and researchers from different institutes from all over the world, the conference was able to provide an interesting insight into research in different areas showing how nanomedicine is working rapidly “from the bench to the bedside”.
LABION contributed to the congress with 2 posters about the application of biophotonic technologies (RS and SPRi) to the characterization of Liposomes designed as drug delivery system for brain diseases and circulating Extracellular Vesicles as biomarker of recovery and rehabilitation in post-stroke patients.
They were 2 intense and interesting days and the whole LABION team attended!
