This month, Labion team participated at the Second Symposium of the Italian Society for Extracellular Vesicles (EVIta) in Barga (Lucca, Italy). The symposium brought together italian excellence in the study of extracellular vesicles in the areas of neuroscience, biomarkers, cancer, regenerative medicine, drug delivery, liquid biopsy, immunology and epigenetics.
Dr. Silvia Picciolini presented the results of a new project that comes from the collaboration with a research group of John Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, regarding the application of suerface plasmon resonance imaging for the monitoring of the effect of a drug, that is an inhibitor of neutral sphingomyelinase 2, on the release of neural extracellular vesicles following an inflammatory insult.
Moreover, Labion team participated at Nanoinnovation with Dr. Marzia Bedoni as chair of two workshops on Innovative approaches in unmet clinical needs for maximum health care impact, from diagnosis to therapeutics aims. Then, Francesca Rodà presented a poster about the characterization of liposomes with biophotonics-based techniques for their use in clinical applications, as proposed by NEVERMIND project.
It was great to start again in-person conferences!!
