Labion participates to the preparation of a special issue of Biomed. Res. Int. on the impact of nanotechnology on personalized treatments.
A clear shift is occurring in medicine. Molecularly targeted therapies opened the era of “personalized medicine” which, in its simplest definition, consists in administering the right drug to the right patient at the right moment. Nanotechnology has a central role in this revolution both by improving the stratification and the selection process of patients and by delivering the drugs just where they are needed.
We invite anyone working on this field to contribute with original research articles as well as review papers that will help in increasing the scientific knowledge and awareness about the potential of nanotechnology and nanostructured materials for personalized treatment of diseases.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Recent advances in the field of -omics technologies
- Development of nanodevices with high versatility and modularity
- Development of nanocarriers for targeted delivery of drugs
- Nanotheranostic agents
- New nanotechnology based screening approaches
