The intense and impressive work emerged form the the collaboration between LABION, San Raffaele Scientific Institute, Università degli Studi di Milano and University of Milano-Bicocca has been today awarded by a publication on Scientific Reports (Nature Publishing Group).

The study, principally conducted by Dr. Alice Gualerzi (PhD), represents the first Raman-based characterisation of the extracellular vesicles (EVs) of human mesenchymal stromal cells isolated from human donors.

The label-free and fast approach to study EVs proposed by this study might become a pivotal quality check of these stem cell-derived products before their therapeutic use, as in the case of regenerative medicine.
